The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the holiday in a statement on Wednesday, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, love, tolerance, and national unity during the festivities.
Government offices, schools, and many businesses will close nationwide on Friday as Muslim faithful join millions around the world in observing the occasion.
