Billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola, has sparked conversations online after urging his daughter, Temi Otedola, to fully submit to her new husband, Afrobeats sensation Oluwatosin Ajibade, aka Mr Eazi, describing him as “a good man from a decent family” and now her boss.
The emotional moment unfolded during Temi and Mr Eazi’s white wedding at the breathtaking Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík, Iceland on Saturday.
In a video that quickly went viral, Otedola addressed his daughter before family and friends: “You found a great guy, he is from a very decent family. One thing I will advise Temi is, you have to succumb to your husband and he’s your boss. There’s no more daddy. Don’t call me.”
The fairytale ceremony was graced by the couple’s loved ones, including Temi’s mother Nana Otedola, her sister Florence “DJ Cuppy” Otedola, and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
Reflecting on the journey, Otedola recalled meeting Mr Eazi in 2017 and predicting he would eventually marry Temi. He also shared the behind-the-scenes struggles of pulling off the dream wedding, including a storm that destroyed their planned tent in Dubai just a week before the Iceland event.
The oil magnate further praised his wife, Nana, for single-handedly raising their children while he focused on business, and advised Temi to emulate that devotion in her new home.
He encouraged the newlyweds to settle conflicts privately and always protect their union from external interference.
This Icelandic celebration marks the final leg of the couple’s three-part wedding journey – following their civil wedding in Monaco (May 9) and their traditional Yoruba ceremony in Dubai (July).
Temi and Mr Eazi’s love story began in 2018 at an event hosted by DJ Cuppy, blossomed into an engagement in April 2022, and has now culminated in one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year.
