For more than two decades, Lagos has stood as the pride of Nigeria – a state of excellence, the economic heartbeat of our nation, and the cradle of innovation and enterprise. Yet, beneath the glitter of high-rise buildings and mega projects lies the painful truth of a state sinking deeper into hunger, inequality, and social neglect. Every morning, thousands of Lagosians wake to uncertainty – unemployment, underemployment, homelessness, hunger, and hopelessness. The market woman no longer smiles; the artisan struggles to feed his family; the young graduate’s dreams are deferred by lack of opportunity. Even the working class now falls among the “working poor,” earning wages that can no longer sustain the cost of living.
After over 20 years of one-party dominance, Lagosians are now asking: What happened to the promise of good governance? Where is the welfare of the people? Why must citizens live without social safety nets in a state that generates billions monthly?
The Truth Lagosians Must Face:
The truth is simple yet bitter – the ruling party in Lagos has long forgotten that governance is about the people. Instead of nurturing a people-centered economy, the state has nurtured a political dynasty. Instead of investing in human welfare, it has invested in politics of control. We see infrastructural facades, yet poverty multiplies beneath every flyover. We see taxes increase yearly, yet public welfare decreases daily. We see government officials prosper, while the people struggle to survive.
This is not the Lagos we deserve:
ADP Lagos: The Party of Hope and Human Welfare
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) Lagos emerges not as another political competitor, but as a moral alternative – a movement of conscience calling for a return to people-centered governance.
ADP Lagos recognizes that true development is measured not by skyscrapers, but by the smiles on citizens’ faces; not by tax revenues, but by the well-being of those who pay them. That is why ADP Lagos stands for Social Security for all citizens – a vision where every Lagosian, regardless of status, has access to minimum welfare protection. The unemployed will no longer be abandoned; the underemployed will no longer be ignored. Through social support programs, empowerment grants, and targeted community development, ADP seeks to rebuild Lagos from the bottom up.
Fighting Hunger and Poverty, Restoring Dignity:
Hunger is the greatest form of insecurity. Poverty is the enemy of democracy. When the people are hungry, democracy loses meaning. ADP Lagos believes every citizen deserves access to food, shelter, and basic livelihood – not as a favor, but as a right. Our economic policy is grounded in human dignity, youth empowerment, and job creation through innovation, agriculture, and local industry revival.
A New Vision for Lagos:
ADP Lagos proposes a Social Security Covenant between government and citizens – ensuring that:
Every unemployed youth is enrolled into a State Work and Skill Program with stipends and training.
Every low-income family receives targeted social welfare support to fight hunger.
Government budgets prioritize human capital, not political capital.
Public resources are used transparently and equitably.
This is not a dream – it is achievable with leadership that cares.
The People’s Power Must Rise Again:
The time has come for Lagosians to break free from the chains of political monopoly. The time has come to say: Enough of neglect, enough of hunger, enough of excuses. Lagos belongs to the people – not to a few who trade governance for personal gain. The 2027 elections will not just be another vote; it will be a referendum on fairness, on humanity, and on the future of Lagos.
Let us unite behind the Action Democratic Party (ADP) Lagos – the only party bold enough to speak for the poor, the unemployed, the artisans, the forgotten, and the voiceless.
Let us support a Lagos that feeds her people before feeding egos; a Lagos that uplifts, not oppresses; a Lagos that provides social security for all.
