Today, the Action Democratic Party (ADP) Lagos stands before the good people of our state and our nation to speak a simple but eternal truth – After God is earthly government.
God is the ultimate authority, the Creator of order, justice, and righteousness. But here on earth, He entrusts leadership and governance to men and women. Governance is not a man-made invention; it is a divine responsibility. And because it comes from God, it must reflect righteousness, compassion, and accountability.
Scripture declares a timeless principle: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” This is not mere religious poetry; it is a political, economic, and social law. A righteous nation rises; a corrupt nation collapses. The direction of a nation is directly tied to the character of its leadership and the morality of its governance.
RIGHTEOUS GOVERNMENT UPLIFTS; CORRUPT GOVERNMENT DESTROYS
When government policies are righteous, citizens prosper. When leaders fear God and love the people, peace reigns. When rulers place the welfare of the people above personal gain, development flows like a river. When justice is upheld, every citizen – rich or poor, young or old – has a place of dignity in society.
But when governance becomes corrupt, selfish, and oppressive, the nation sinks.
👉Corruption destroys the economy.
👉Autocracy destroys freedom.
👉Greed destroys institutions.
👉Injustice destroys hope.
A corrupt government can turn a land of abundance into a land of hunger. It can turn a promising future into a painful nightmare. It can make citizens flee instead of flourish.
This is why Nigeria groans today. Not because God has abandoned us, but because too many of our leaders have abandoned righteousness. Too many have abandoned compassion. Too many have abandoned the people whose mandate they hold.
THE DANGER OF AUTOCRATS IN GOVERNMENT
We must speak with boldness and clarity: autocrats are the greatest threat to the welfare of the people, and ultimately our democracy.

👉An autocrat is greedy.
👉An autocrat is power-drunk, insecure, and ruthless.
👉An autocrat sees himself as king, not servant; as master, not leader.
👉Autocrats treat the people as subjects rather than citizens.
👉They silence dissent, suppress truth, and use fear as a tool of control.
👉They believe power is their birthright and the people exist to be ruled, manipulated, and exploited.
Under AUTOCRACY:
👉Hunger becomes a weapon.
👉Poverty becomes a trap.
👉Fear becomes a culture.
👉Institutions become personal property.
When autocrats rule, the land groans – families groan under rising costs, businesses groan under harsh policies, students groan under hopeless futures, and workers groan under stagnant wages.
That is why ADP Lagos says with all honesty and responsibility: We must stand against autocrats. We must reject their systems, condemn their methods, and refuse their oppression.
